“Growing up in Afghanistan was not easy for me. Going to school and participating in any social activities was difficult for me as a girl but I tried my best to attend school and graduate and continued my studies at the Faculty of Computer Science in Herat. However, the Taliban took control of Afghanistan depriving me of my basic right to education. I fled my country, going to Iran and then to Italy: I arrived on February 17, 2022. This is a golden opportunity for me and all the other students at risk. I feel so lucky! All this means a lot to me, I am grateful to the University of Padua and the Rotary Club of Padua.”
