The project
The Intesa Sanpaolo Charity Fund supports the UNCOVER project
Domestic violence leaves more than visible scars. Beyond the immediate physical harm, it has deep and lasting effects on a woman’s overall health. Repeated exposure to violence is linked to a wide range of chronic physical and psychological conditions.
The UNCOVER project — Unraveling Neuroendocrine and Cardiovascular Outcomes of Violence in Exposed Relationships — is led by Dr. Jacopo Agrimi of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Padua. The project seeks to transform how we understand and address the long-term biological consequences of violence against women. UNCOVER integrates joint neuropsychological and cardiovascular screening with awareness initiatives in antiviolence centers, schools, and universities. This comprehensive approach aims to not only advance scientific understanding but also foster education and prevention across communities.
The achievement of these impact objectives is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Intesa Sanpaolo Charity Fund.
The Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. Charity Fund has generously supported UniRe by financing four of these research grants, enabling in-depth study of gender issues across various domains: economics, psychology, culture, education, and health.
