The fundraising campaign continued throughout 2024 for the research project on the forest emergency caused by the parasite known as the “bark beetle”, the beetle that, after the 2018 Vaia storm, infested the forests of the Northeast in the following years, leading to the death of over 8 million trees in Veneto. To deal with this emergency, the University of Padua launched a research project conducted by the Territory and Agro-forestry Systems (TESAF) and Agronomy Animals Food Natural Resources and Environment (DAFNAE) Departments.

Thanks to donations from individuals, companies such as Clivet S.p.A. and SIPA S.p.A., and employees of Cherry Bank S.p.A. it was possible to activate the fi rst of two three-year research PhDs, starting in November 2025.
